john the bathist
This is another illustration I did for Christian Parenting Today. It was for one of those malapropisms-from-kids articles. One child misunderstood the word baptist and reiterated it later as bathist. Hilarity ensues.
Part of the fun in this illustration is in Greek Orthodox iconography, John the Baptist is often shown wearing the hairy pelt of some unknown animal. That pelt is generally rendered in shades of blue. Hence, the bath towel.
